Why has Articles base been a target for poor SEO techniques in the past?
If
you are involved in online marketing you will likely understand that to
rank in search engines like Google you need quality inbound links to
help send signals that your content is worth reading.
Due to Articles bases large amount of visitors and low publishing requirements
(something which has since changed), this lead to a huge amount of poor
quality content being submitted to our site. Largely by marketing
agencies looking to gain links to their clients sites.
Fortunately, we now have a much higher posting standards to ensure that these spam my, poor quality articles never get published on our site.
However
due to the volume of content on Articles base it’s likely that some of
the older spam my links still exist. We took the decision not to remove
all links from our articles as this would impact the user experience and
be unfair on authors who publish quality content.
The
power of Articles base can be harnessed for good as well as bad, should
you wish to publish quality content, you can gain traffic and an SEO
boost if you enable your content to stand out.
Checkout our article on How to craft an article which will attract visitors and meet our posting standards.
A good article from Matt Cuts on Search Engine Watch can be found here. Matt Cuts: Using Article Directories for Links? Just No
This is a great read as it explains in depth why publishing poor quality content is simply not going to help.
At Articles base we are working hard to ensure your quality content gets
the attention it deserves. It’s important that authors, freelance
writers and journalists can publish their content without the need to
worry about ‘SEO’, by following our advice and writing content which you
have a passion for, you can help raise the quality of content being
published online.
